Lonnie Habert Raper, age 73 of McMinnville, Tennessee passed from this life on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at his home

Born Monday, September 29, 1947 in McMinnville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Lonnie Raper and the late Leona Owens Raper.

Lonnie loved Tennessee Walking Horses. He helped break and train the 1962 World Champion Ebony Masterpiece. He always looked forward to May 1st for the Kentucky Derby.

Lonnie is survived by his:
2 brothers, Terry Raper and wife Melinda
Lewis Raper
sister, Joy McBride
good friends, Terry "Big T" Bond, Jerry Greene, Greg Greene, Gary Hildreth, and Danny Hildreth
special niece and nephew, Tammy Ferrell and Tim McBride
many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends also survive.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie was preceded in death by his sister Treva Joyce Raper.

There will be a Memorial service at the Crain Hill Cemetery at a later date.

We thought a lot of Lonnie. He worked with Burton and rode horses. He was always so friendly. With sadness we send our deepest sympathy. May the good memories of him be a comfort to you all.
