Sammie Joe Allen, age 88 of McMinnville, Tennessee passed from this life on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Born Wednesday, December 14, 1932 in Campaign, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Franklin Allen and the late Bonnie Hillis Allen.

Sammie retired from the State Highway Department and from Middle Tennessee Natural Gas.

Sammie is survived by his:
wife, Becky Rich Allen
2 daughters, Cindy Moore and husband Bobby
Perri Messick
3 step-daughters, Rene Brothers and husband Matt
Pam Raper and husband Mack
Patricia Willis and husband Jerry
step-son, Nathan Latture and wife Teresa
14 grandchildren
7 great grandchildren
many other family members and friends also survive.

In addition to his parents, Sammie was preceded in death by the his first wife Margaret McBride Allen, daughter Sammie Lynn Allen Norman, brother Hubert L. Allen, two sisters Iva Jean Chancellor, and Peggy Carter, grandparents Perry and Elizabeth Hillis and George and Lydia Mayfield Allen, son-in-law Lonnie Messick.

A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home located at 415 North Chancery St. McMinnville, Tennessee 37110 with Tom Hafstad officiating. Interment will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Smartt, TN.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home, 415 North Chancery St., McMinnville, Tennessee.
