Obituary for James "Jimmy" Love Self
James "Jimmy" Love Self, age 81 of McMinnville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at his residence.
Jimmy was born Monday, July 7, 1941 in Smithville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Troy Self and Minnie Denny. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Hendrix and second wife, Nina Bain Self, daughters, Louann Cantrell and Tammy Self, brothers, Roy Self, Tommy Self and Sam Denny and sister, Irene Bain Self.
Mr. Self is survived by his grandchildren, Candra and John Averitte of Cookeville, TN;
Crystal Self of Huntington, IN; Dewayne and Mikelyn Self of McMinnville, TN; Lera Britt of Smithville, TN; Gary Tate of McMinnville, TN; Tia Tate of McMinnville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Betty Self of Cookeville, TN; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors also survive.
A Funeral Service was held 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with Larry Self officiating. Interment followed in the DeKalb Cemetery in DeKalb County.
The family received friends 10:00 a.m. until the time of service 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2023 at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home.
Veteran Honors performed by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064
Gardens of Memory Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
