James Layton "Jack" Davenport, age 66 of McMinnville, Tennessee passed from this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, Tennessee.

James was born Monday, May 23, 1955 in McMinnville, Tennessee. The son of the late Layton Houston Davenport and Lina Ruth Bell Davenport. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law Gloria Young.

He was an owner-operator truck driver.

James is survived by his:
wife, Beverly Davenport
4 children, Kenneth Davenport, Nathan Davenport and wife Christi, Jason Fann and wife LaDonna and Terra Davenport.
7 grandchildren, Brittney Daniel, Noah Fann, Aaron Davenport, Matthew Davenport, Jorden Dennis, Florence Davenport, and Kenneth Davenport, Jr.
4 great grandchildren, Spencer Daniel, Emma Fann, Londyn Dennis, Easton Dennis
2 brothers, Fred Davenport and wife Jill and Tony Davenport and wife Wilma
sister-in-law, Brenda Whiles and husband Mark
father-in-law, Dene Young
many other family members and friends also survive.

A Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Friday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home located at 415 North Chancery St. McMinnville, Tennessee 37110.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home, 415 North Chancery St., McMinnville, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
