Obituary for Hattie Imogene Jacobs

Hattie Imogene Jacobs, age 92 of a native of White County and Resident of Centertown passed from this life on Sunday, June 7, 2020. She was a member of Bethel Hill Baptist Church.

Imogene was born Tuesday, September 27, 1927 in Sparta, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Julius Bowdoin and the late Zona Parsley Bowdoin.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Nevis Almert Jacobs, 3 brothers Julius Bowdoin Jr. Harold Bowdoin and wife Geneva, Billy Bowdoin and wife Gerildean, sister Shirley Morton, sister-in-law Jeannie Bowdoin, son-in-law Frank Cope, 3 grandchildren Joe Lyle, Khyva Cope and Justin Jacobs, and a great grandson Brandon Gipson.

Imogene is survived by her:
4 daughters -Sue Cope, Donna Jenkins and husband Charles, Doris Young and husband James, Kathy Bouldin and husband Keith
son - Aaron Jacobs and wife Joyce
11 grandchildren
23 great grandchildren
15 great great grandchildren
brother - James Bowdoin
2 sister-in-laws - Juanita Bowdoin and Peggy Jacobs
2 brother-in-laws - Earl Morton and Leo Jacobs and wife Melba
Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Mema as she was known was the happiest with her family and working in her yard. She was a great cook and loved feeding everyone.

The family would like to express a special Thank You to her caregiver Wanda Fults and Wayne Fults.

A Graveside service will be on Wednesday at Centertown Cemetery with John Padgett and William Randolph officiating. Interment will be in Centertown Cemetery, McMinnville, TN.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Centertown Cemetery or the charity of your choice.
